Alua Atlantico Golf Resort is a family‑focused Hyatt property set along a beautiful stretch of Tenerife’s coastline. While the weather and scenery were definite highlights, the resort’s atmosphere and layout make it far more suited to families than to couples or adults seeking a quieter break.
🍽️ Dining – Busy, Varied, but Not Relaxing
- The main buffet restaurant offers a reasonably good selection of food, but it’s extremely busy and noisy due to the high number of families using it.
- A second restaurant on the complex provides a slightly different menu and is marginally quieter, though still not what you’d call peaceful.
- Two specialty restaurants are available at an additional cost.
🎭 Entertainment – Energetic but Chaotic
- Evening entertainment is lively, with performers putting on varied shows most nights.
- Shows follow directly after the children’s club, meaning children are running around throughout the evening.
- The stage area is poorly designed, with large pillars blocking sightlines — you’ll likely end up watching the performers on TV screens instead of the stage.
🌤️ Highlights – Weather & Coastline
- The weather was beautiful throughout the stay, reaching a very comfortable 23°C.
- Coastal walks and sea views were genuinely enjoyable and offered a welcome contrast to the busy resort atmosphere.
🛏️ Accommodation – Clean & Comfortable
- Rooms were pleasant and well maintained, with daily housekeeping.
- The resort was very full, and most guests appeared to be from non‑English‑speaking countries, which left us feeling a bit isolated as a couple.
👀 Overall Impression
This is very much a family resort, with no adults‑only areas and a consistently busy, noisy atmosphere. While the accommodation and weather were lovely, the environment simply didn’t suit our age group or the type of holiday we were hoping for.
